Is Istanbul the New Manhattan?

Especially in recent years, we see white-collar workers migrating from the city to the countryside. Until very recently, it was thought necessary for all white-collar workers to reside in Istanbul. With the increase in migration from the city to the countryside, to whom does the fortress of white-collar workers, Istanbul, remain? Who does Istanbul become the new fortress for? Primarily, because almost every brand in Turkey has an office in Istanbul, white-collar workers have been migrating here from other provinces for years. However, unfortunately, in recent years, due to

• Economic crisis

• Security issues

• And other reasons, this migration has continued to increase rapidly. Although many companies anticipated this and switched to part-time work, unfortunately, they could not prevent the migration in the long term. The new settlement plan expected for Istanbul is to establish a classic Manhattan culture. That is, to position only those in the private sector with at least a managerial role in smaller homes, and either to have other employees work entirely remotely or to create new workspaces by setting up centers in smaller cities. Essentially, to directly or indirectly force everyone who resists living in Istanbul to migrate. Even now, living in Istanbul is so difficult, and after establishing this culture, it seems hardly possible for other workers to continue living in Istanbul. We might soon be counting the days until Istanbul becomes the new Manhattan, dominated by the service sector along with senior white-collar workers.
